Report: Yankees considering budget increase

In his morning column Tuesday, Buster Olney reported that Yankees’ brass would, over the “next couple of weeks,” make a decision on possibly increasing their 2012 payroll budget. The obvious reason for this would be to fit in the needed money for a new starting pitcher, and to that end Jon Heyman reports that the team is still talking to Hiroki Kuroda, Roy Oswalt, and (gulp!) Edwin Jackson. The Yankees reportedly “like” all three guys, but don’t necessarily like the prices all three are asking for. Full story >
