Will Ethier’s contract affect Swisher’s winter?

If you haven’t heard yet, the new Dodgers’ ownership group made their first big splash last night, signing rightfielder Andre Ethier to a six year, $85 million contract extension with a vesting option that could push the total value of the deal over the $100 million mark. It’s a huge deal for a popular player having a big season, but it could also have ramifications for this winter’s free agent class, including the Yankees’ own rightfielder Nick Swisher.
